Soy investigadora, consultora, y divulgadora <\/strong>sobre el impacto de las tecnolog\u00edas digitales y la Inteligencia Artificial (IA) <\/strong>en la sociedad.<\/strong> Trabajo desde Barcelona y en el \u00e1mbito internacional.<\/p>

I am co-founder of the Gender and Gig Economy Working Group,<\/strong> a collective of\nover 65 experts from academia and policy, from over 16 countries.<\/strong>Every month\nI facilitate virtual discussion groups on the opportunities and challenges posed by\nthe digital economy and platform work from a gender perspective.<\/p>

I am Olivia Blanchard and I am a consultant, researcher and trainer on the\nimpact of digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) on society. <\/strong>I work\nfrom Barcelona and internationally.<\/p>

I work with organisations <\/strong> such as the Social Observatory of the \u201cla Caixa\u201d\nFoundation, Eurofound (European Commission), the International Training Centre\nof the International Labour Organisation (United Nations), the Inter-American\nDevelopment Bank, among others.<\/p>

I am co-founder of the Gender and Gig Economy Working Group,<\/strong> a collective of\nover 65 experts from academia and policy, from over 16 countries.<\/strong>Every month\nI facilitate virtual discussion groups on the opportunities and challenges posed by\nthe digital economy and platform work from a gender perspective.<\/p>

For five years, until January 2024, I've been senior researcher<\/strong> and coordinator of the Mobile World Capital Foundation in Barcelona.<\/strong> Throughout this period, I led the research think tank Digital Future Society on the future of work and researched and wrote the first report published in Spain on the digital platforms of work in the sector of home care.<\/strong> I wrote numerous reports,<\/strong> with recommendations for policymakers on the future of work from a gender perspective, the use of technology in the public administration, the humanism of technology, the metaverse, among other topics. In my entire career, seek the welfare of the people and to give visibility to issues less visible has been a constant that gives meaning to my work and, in fact, trabaj\u00e9 durante m\u00e1s de diez a\u00f1os en posiciones de advocacy<\/em> y comunicaci\u00f3n en ONGs internacionales,<\/strong> principalmente con M\u00e9dicos Sin Fronteras.\u00a0He viajado y trabajado en diferentes pa\u00edses de Europa, Am\u00e9rica Latina, \u00c1frica subsahariana y Asia.<\/p>

Throughout my career, seeking the welfare of people and putting the spotlight on\nissues that do not get much visibility has been a thread that gives meaning to my\nwork.<\/p>

I worked for over a decade in advocacy and communications positions in\ninternational NGOs, <\/strong>mainly with Doctors Without Borders, and I have worked and\nlived in different countries in Europe, Latin America, sub-Saharan Africa and Asia.<\/p>

I am bilingual native level in English and Spanish and I have the Level C Certificate\nin Catalan, so I can work with you in either of these three languages.<\/p>

In regards to my education, I graduated in Political Science<\/strong> (University of Bristol, Uk) and I have a graduate degree in Gender studies<\/strong> (Col\u00b7legi de Professionals de les Ci\u00e8ncies Politiques i Socials de Catalunya). I have always felt like I am a mix of an academic researcher and a journalist, and\nhave always been drawn towards researching and giving visibility to social issues\nfrom a gender, human rights and social perspective.<\/strong><\/p>

This is what drove me to study Political Sciences <\/strong>at University and dedicate a\nsignificant part of my career to working in communications and advocacy roles in\nNGOs such as Doctors Without Borders.<\/strong><\/p>

It is the thread that led me to travel and investigate the situation of tibetan refugees in exile in Nepal and India<\/strong>gender-based violence in Argentina<\/strong>, the violation of human rights in Colombia<\/strong> or sexual violence in Guatemala. <\/strong><\/p>
